Exercise // Thinker: You Are In The Business of Leadership

"I am in the business of leadership."

I read that recently in a "business" book. I am supposed to repeat it to myself daily to get in the groove of business ownership. It occurs to me that that phrase can apply to exercise.

In your exercise, you are in the business of leadership.

You are leading yourself to a more able, better functioning body (at least, we hope so).

You are leading yourself towards an improved life experience where you can enjoy and be fulfilled by the things that matter the most to you.

You are leading other people - friends, colleagues, family members - by setting that example. An example of progress and effort.

It is entirely possible that you and your exercise effort could inspire someone very near and dear to you to make similar efforts for their own greater good.

Continue that ripple.
