I’ve always been deeply involved in sports, participating in team activities throughout my teen years. As I got older, I found that while I was incredibly active, my extra weight was impacting both my athletic performance and my mental well-being. I was self-conscious about my appearance, both in sports uniforms and everyday clothes. Determined to make a change, I began working out with minimal equipment, just running shoes and some dumbbells. As I saw progress in both strength and weight loss, I became eager for more. I joined a gym, but quickly found that the culture there was not for me.
Thankfully, my mother and brother were training at Striation 6, and when I followed suit, I found a community that truly supported me. The welcoming environment, led by Sam Trotta and Brad Thorpe, made a huge difference. I soon joined their apprenticeship program in Personal Training, and that’s when I discovered the Isophit Strength Trainer. After just one session, I was hooked, it was the most effective and efficient training tool I’d ever experienced, targeting muscles I’d never felt before. In 2019, I was offered the opportunity to manage the Isophit Strength Zone, specializing in isometric strength training, a role that I’m deeply passionate about.
My approach to training is to prioritize safety and form, ensuring that clients are stable and strong before introducing dynamic movement. I believe in "perfecting the non-moving parts" getting the foundational strength and stability in place so that when clients are ready to move, their bodies are fully prepared. Whether they’re looking to return to sport or just looking to improve their daily function, I focus on reducing the risk of injury and building confidence in every position.
In each session, my goal is to make clients feel energized, accomplished, and motivated to come back for more. Training should never feel like a chore, it should be an empowering experience that leaves them feeling better, not just physically, but mentally too.
Client success, to me, is seeing individuals whether they’re retired athletes, busy professionals, new moms, or post-surgery clients become stronger, more capable, and more confident. Success is hearing clients report less pain, improved strength, and greater stamina. It’s about helping people regain their joy for movement and return to their favourite activities with a sense of safety and confidence. Ultimately, client success is about seeing people live pain-free, with the energy to do what they love, and the confidence to keep progressing.
