Why the First Month of Metabolic Balance Coaching Matters for Longevity
When it comes to nutrition for longevity for adults over 35, the first month of a new program sets the foundation for everything that follows. During this phase, we will:
- collect data and information about you and your specific goals;
- develop your plan; and,
- go through the initial phases of your plan together.
While many of our Nutrition Coaching clients notice significant positive changes during this time, this phase is crucial for getting you on the right track. It’s important to remember that Nutrition Coaching at Striation 6 is not about quick transformations and boilerplate “weight loss”. Our focus is on people who want to make permanent changes. Like we say in the video below, we only want you to buy this once!
Four Simple Steps to Get Your Nutrition for Longevity on Track
Many of my clients notice meaningful shifts in their energy and mood within the first two weeks, not because we’ve “fixed” everything, but because the body finally has the structure it needs to regulate more effectively.]
Step 1: Your Initial Consultation
The first step in the Metabolic Balance® Nutrition Coaching for longevity process is booking your complimentary consultation. After booking, you will receive an email with a link to an information video about our Nutrition Coaching process and procedures.
It is important that you watch this video in full prior to your consultation so that you can ask your most important questions and make a fully informed decision at the end of the consultation.
The aims of the consultation are:
- for us to ask each other all important questions;
- set appropriate service and results expectations; and, most of all,
- determine whether or our Nutrition Coaching program is a good fit for you.
On that last point, we pride ourselves on professional service-providing at Striation 6. Therefore, if you do not think that our Nutrition Coaching service is for you, then we would not be doing either of us a favour if we somehow figured out a way to “sell you” on it. Furthermore, if we feel that it would be unethical, harmful or negative in any way to take you on as a Nutrition Coaching client, we will tell you just that in a straightforward, professional manner during the consultation procedure.
The idea here is to make a mutually beneficial agreement as to whether or not we should move forward. If it turns out that you would be better served elsewhere in your nutrition for longevity quest, we will do our best to recommend other facilities, modalities and practitioners that might suit you better than we do.
My consultations generally run between 30 and 60 minutes. No matter what the outcome, you will leave fully heard and confident in your decision, and knowing what the next steps look like.

Step 2: Your Personal Profile and Blood Work Panel
The main reason we took on Nutrition Coaching through Metabolic Balance at Striation 6 is that it enables the customization and personalization of your nutrition in an efficient and effective manner. Just as we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for exercise, the same goes for nutrition!
Customization of your nutrition for longevity process is enabled through your Personal Profile form and your blood work panel. Your Personal Profile form collects information about your demographics, disease history, and current medications. The blood work panel assesses 36+ biomarkers to inform which foods will best nourish your system, reduce systemic inflammation, and support the longevity you desire.
This information is used to identify patterns in your metabolism, nutrient levels, and hormonal markers. Those things give us a clearer picture of what your body actually needs. This is a step up from relying on generic nutrition advice and social media trends.
The personalization of your plan comes from – in addition to ongoing interactions and tweaks from your coach – your ability to list food allergies, sensitivities and, perhaps most important, preferences. On that last point, you just will not stick to a nutrition plan where the food is unappetizing.
Yes, it is important for all parties that you ENJOY the food in your nutrition for longevity plan!
Step 3: Receiving Your Personalized Nutrition for Longevity Plan
Once your blood work is complete and analyzed, your customized nutrition plan for longevity is created based on your individual results. This is not boilerplate or standard protocol. It’s a plan tailored to you based on your health history, preferences, and goals.
Your plan includes:
- personalized food lists
- meal structure guidelines
- customized portion recommendations
- tip for staying on track and making the process as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible
We will go through this plan together, one-on-one. You will have the chance to ask questions and gain clarity about your plan before starting.

- It’s based on your personal data and preferences, not a generic protocol or framework

Step 4: The First 16 Days – Building the Foundation of Nutrition for Longevity
The first two weeks of your Nutrition Coaching plan are an adjustment that feels healthy, manageable and energetic once everything clicks.
During this phase, you’ll focus on:
- building new habits;
- learning how your body responds to the adapted meal structure; and,
- Creating the nutritional foundation to optimize your weight and health for the long term.
What most clients notice in the first two weeks:
- Improved energy levels, especially in the afternoons
- Reduced bloating, gas and other digestive irregularities
- Fewer cravings and a more stable appetite throughout the day
- Far better clarity about what and when you should eat
It’s important to note that not everyone experiences dramatic shifts right away. This is completely normal.
Sudden, dramatic shifts are not the goal. The goal is a permanent shift towards health and balanced, enjoyable nutrition and lifestyle habits.
This early phase is about building a solid foundation for nutrition for longevity. Results often accelerate in weeks 3 and 4 as the body adjusts.
I had two clients recently start their respective plans at the same time. The first one experienced 10 pounds of weight loss with energy boosts and craving reductions in the first 16 days of her program. The second one did not see significant weight loss until about 6 weeks into her process. However, she did see a 23-point reduction in her blood pressure readings. This was significant. She was able to avoid blood pressure medication as a result, and is confident that her health will continue to improve positively as long as she stays on the plan.
Step 4: Weeks Three and Four – When Things Really Start to Shift
By weeks three and four of your Metabolic Balance® Nutrition Coaching plan, most clients begin to feel more settled into their routines, appreciate the effects of their new nutrition habits, and even discover new foods and recipes to enjoy!
This also tends to be when symptoms like bloating and mood swings shift positively, sleep improves, energy levels stabilize, and their increased physical health leads to your body releasing unnecessary, unproductive, and unwanted weight.
Here’s what we focus on in coaching sessions during this phase:
- Adding more food into your plan to accelerate its health, weight loss, fitness and longevity benefits
- Reviewing issues and challenges that might require some extra support
- Continuing to build confidence and momentum to ingrain the lessons and habits into permanent lifestyle changes
What Results Can You Realistically Expect After One Month of Nutrition for Longevity?
Results vary depending on a variety of factors. These include where you’re starting from, how closely you stick to your plan, stress management, quality of sleep, and other individual factors.
That said, after one month of Striation 6 Nutrition Coaching for longevity, many clients share that they experience:
- More energy that remains stable throughout the day[
- Reduced symptoms relating to bloating, gas and other digestive upset
- Improved overall sleep quality and better energy in the mornings

Frequently Asked Questions About Starting Nutrition Coaching For Longevity Powered By Metabolic Balance
If you follow the plan to a tee, you should begin to see results within 7 days of starting the plan. Results will really start to kick in during weeks 3 and 4.
With that said, results can vary.
First, a clarifying question to your question: do you mean your favourite foods to nourish your body, or your favourite things to eat because they taste good but have no real nutritional value?
You should be able to eat for joy in your life. Ideally, though, not at the cost of your health. So, there will be a short phase (16 days) during your plan where your food is somewhat restricted. You will never have to eat anything you don’t like. However, you may have to forego some of your favourite indulgences during that period. After the first 16 days, you’ll be able to work the things you love back into the system.
Side note: You might be surprised at what foods become your “favourite” and which ones fall out of that place during your process.
These are definitely factors to consider in your decision to take on our Nutrition Coaching service.
Ideally, these issues will be addressed during the Complimentary Consultation. If your success level seems unlikely, then we might mutually agree to touch base again once things have down-regulated for you.
Again, this is a question that can be handled during the Complimentary Consultation.
The only clients that we will not take on at the outset are people going through cancer treatment or who are actively being treated for an eating disorder. Beyond those issues, we have clients in our Nutrition Coaching service who are on medication for arthritis, high cholesterol, blood sugar issues, and a variety of other common health issues.
