I’ve put together my favorite healthy restaurants in Davisville Village for you below. Having lived here for 15 years, I’ve tried them all. As a fitness expert, I often have personal training clients asking for recommendations to help them stay on track.

Finding a healthy restaurant in a city like Toronto is challenging in two ways:
First, you need to know what it means to eat healthy. In my view, healthy choices mean foods that are both tasty, enjoyable, and rich in protein, fiber and essential nutrients. We’re looking for foods that sustain a healthy body, mind, and overall well-being.
When I moved into the Davisville Village area of Toronto (c. 2010), choices for healthy restaurants in the neighborhood were sparse. In fact, there wasn’t much available between Yonge & Davisville and Yonge & Eglinton other than fast food (with one exception . . . to be revealed later).
In 2025, the Davisville Village area is teeming with healthy restaurant choices. There are a few favorite restaurants that are clear winners when it comes to healthy food choices compared to others.
I have highlighted here some of the better healthy restaurant choices in Davisville Village and near our gym location. I want to be sure prospective members and clients can have reliable food resources to capitalize on their workouts. Going out to a healthy restaurant is a great choice when the groceries are sparse, time is limited, or, my favourite, when you feel like having a much-deserved treat.
The Flaming Stove
The Flaming Stove has become a well-known fixture in Davisville Village, located in the back of The Hasty Market at 21 Davisville Ave. They are most famous for their shawarma wraps and plates. While technically a fast food place, it is also a great healthy Toronto restaurant choice. You’ll enjoy clean, protein and fiber-rich food for very fair prices.
Their award-winning shawarma wraps and plates are less than $15 and boast 30 – 35 grams of protein. The actual wraps (called saj wraps), despite their immense size, are only around 20 grams of carbohydrates. This allows you to control your overall calorie intake (really, it ends up being about how much sauce you use). The wrap is mostly vegetables, with choices ranging from tomatoes and lettuce to fiber-rich interesting options like cabbage & pickled turnips. The Flaming Stove also has some great vegan options (awesome falafel!) that are fresh-made and ready-to-go.
As a Davisville Village resident looking for a great, fast healthy restaurant choice where you can be full and nourished for less than $20, The Flaming Stove is your best option.
Impact Kitchen
Impact Kitchen is becoming increasingly known as Toronto’s number one healthy restaurant choice. For Davisville Village and Yonge and Eglinton residents, they recently opened up a location at 2555 Yonge Street. The menu is entirely gluten-free and has a wide variety of vegan options. Impact Kitchen also has core values centered around using local farmers and vendors. They also work with regenerative farms to get customers high-quality, healthy choices with an awesome mission to back them up.
For Toronto residents looking for a greater variety of plant-based healthy restaurant food choices, Impact Kitchen is a great choice. They have done better than any restaurant I’ve seen in creating such options. Plus, there are lots of animal-based protein options like smoked salmon, local eggs and grass-fed beef, too.
The midtown location is a bit of a hike (or one stop on the TTC plus a shorter hike) from Davisville Village. It is well worth the trip if you are looking for a healthy restaurant with diverse, high-quality, & fairly priced options.
Tabule
Ah, that one exception for healthy restaurant choices in Davisville Village pre-dating 2010. Tabule, in my view, is the top dine-in healthy restaurant choice in all of Toronto. Tabule has been providing Davisville Village and midtown Toronto residents with healthy, diverse, delicious, fairly-priced food since 2005.
With a menu based in Lebanese fare, it is filled with grilled meat and fish, fresh salads, grilled vegetables. Plus, there are lots of choices of bean and legume-based dishes (hummus, falafel, etc.) The fried foods are never oily and the ingredients seem to always be fresh and delicious. My standard order is the house salad (no onions, but that a “me” thing) and two skewers of medium-rare grilled lamb. If I am really hungry, I’ll also grab an order of kubbe (a cracked wheat shell with spiced beef and pine nuts inside).
